The Ladies Auxiliary has always been an integral foundation of St. Michael’s Church. Before there was a formal club, the ladies assisted in every capacity to serve their faith and fellow man for the glory of God’s Holy Church. By 1910, they were officially known as Ladies Aid.
Over the years the name was changed to Ladies Auxiliary, maintaining the vital link in the organizational chain of the Antiochian women.
Through our affiliation with the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America, we seek to perpetuate the Christian leadership in our Holy Orthodox Church through works of charity and a growing understanding of the heritage and traditions of the Archdiocese and the church.
Our main objective is to nurture the spiritual needs of St. Michael by offering annual retreats, maintaining an informative library, and supporting the needs of the church. Each new college student receives an icon so that their home church will always remain with them. Once a year, we provide a luncheon with bingo games for our Young at Heart senior citizens group. We assist in the annual Easter picnic and offer a major fundraiser at the picnic. Other projects throughout the year provide the funds to help the various charities we support.
Through our local delegates to regional parish life conferences, St. Michael’s Ladies Auxiliary has a voice in electing regional officers, determining regional policies, and selecting regional projects.
